Recycled Art in the Park!
IRC staff and board members recently entertained AND educated thousands of central Indiana kids by showing them how easy and important it is to recycle at the PBS Let's Meet Kids In The Park event in Indianapolis. We hosted a recycled crafts table featuring salvaged wallpaper and fabric samples, old posters that made for GREAT drawing paper on the unused side, crayons that had been used but still had LOTS of life in them, old Popsicle sticks, twine, and cardboard remnants.

IRC Member Perry Johnson Registrars, Inc. (PJR) will offer Responsible Recycling (R2) Training on June 10 in Indianapolis. Participants will learn the five simple steps to R2 certification and have the opportunity to become an internal auditor. IRC members will receive a substantial discount on the training.

It's no surprise that Indianapolis, consistently ranked as one of America's least green cities, trails the pack when it comes to requiring or inducing residents to recycle their glass, metal and paper trash.
It may come as a surprise to many non-recyclers that they haven't been saving money in the broad sense.
