“Re-conomics” is the theme of this year’s Indiana Recycling Coalition (IRC) video contest open to Indiana middle and high school students. Students can earn prize money for creating 30 second PSAs that educate Hoosiers about how reducing, reusing and recycling are good for our economy and, more specifically:
How Hoosier businesses, communities and organizations save money by reducing, reusing and/or recycling
OR
How new jobs can be created as a result of recycling.
The contest is one of several ways that the IRC will celebrate America Recycles Day (ARD) in 2011.
In addition to cash prizes, video contest winners and their guests will be able to see their videos screened at an awards ceremony on ARD, Tuesday, November 15, 2011.
The contest is open to Indiana students grades 6 through 12 and ages 10 through 18. Registration information and a complete listing of rules and regulations are available on the IRC website, www.indianarecycling.org. Video entries will be due Tuesday, October 18, 2011.
THANK YOU to our generous sponsors Keep America Beautiful and the Indiana Household Hazardous Waste Task Force, who make the contest possible!
