Help us make this year’s Dig IN a successful Zero Waste Event by volunteering with us!
This year’s Dig IN is now aiming to be a Zero Waste event! The IRC has partnered with the Dig IN Festival to ensure that 90% of the waste is recycled, reduced or reused for a smaller environmental footprint overall. All of the food and containers will be composted and converted into rich soil that helps Indiana farmers grow the high quality food that Dig IN celebrates! All the other waste will be recycled and converted into new products - providing much needed jobs to Indiana workers.
As a volunteer, you will be asked to:
o Monitor recycling and compost bins to ensure they are free of contamination
o Alert the Dig IN team when a recycling or compost bin is full, remove the full bag to be collected and replace with a new bag.
o Educate attendees on zero waste efforts and answer any questions they may have.
Volunteers receive a free ticket to enjoy Dig IN before or after shift and a volunteer t-shirt.
