Do you have an innovative or outstanding recycling, composting and/or source reduction program that needs some recognition? NRC is looking for you or your organization! The NRC will honor its award winners during the 17th Annual Congress & Exposition this September in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

NRC's Buy Recycled Business Alliance (BRBA) recognizes outstanding recycling achievements, publicizes success stories, and works to raise awareness of recycling throughout the country. Award winners represent diverse recycling programs across the United States.

The 1997 Award Categories were:

Outstanding Recycling Innovation (Product or Process)

Call for Nominations 1998-99 NRC Board of Directors

Want to make a difference and be part of the movers and shakers? The National Recycling Coalition(NRC) is calling for nominations for its 1998-99 Board of Directors Slate. NRC is seeking candidates who are committed to providing time and resources toward governing the Coalition into the next millennium.

All candidates for the Slate must meet the following criteria:

Be an NRC member in good standing for at least one year previous to the election
Be committed to the advancement of recycling and to the NRC mission
Have management experience
Have a broad knowledge of the recycling industry.

If you meet these qualifications and would like to be considered for the 1998-99 NRC Board of Directors Slate, request a nominations packet by contacting the NRC at 703-683-9025 ext. 406. All nominations must be received by the NRC office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 1998.

As a current board member, serving on the NRC Board has been the experience of a lifetime. It is a priceless networking tool. It is a chance for a person to be an expert in their field, grow as an individual, learn from others, and be involved in making a change that can effect the country from the federal level down to the local level.
