First-Ever IRC Conference Auction Big Success

The IRC greatly appreciates the work of Janet Fox Neltner, Donna Gossett, Mark W. Davis, Les Alexander, and Mike Fincher for their assistance in helping make the IRC Auction a tremendous success. The auction resulted in the sale of over 70 items and grossed over $1400. The auction items ranged from autographed celebrity photos, scripts and other items, to vintage denim wearable collectibles, to car phones, handmade jewelry and gift certificates for meals and merchandise.

I would like to give special thanks to Jeff Myers who performed so skillfully as our auctioneer on the featured items we auctioned live; and to David Forsell and his very talented wife, Shannon, who were delightfully perfect as our "Alex Trebec" and "Vanna" for our "Jeopardy"-style Recycler's Quiz game.

IRC Board Election Results

The 1997/98 Board of Directors brings together a talented group of individuals, representing all membership categories of the coalition. This year's election included a virtually full slate, with contested races for both the government and business sectors. The quality of everyone running for this years board of directors was very high. Thank you to everyone who ran. For those who won their respective elections, congratulations. For those who were not elected, we hope to see you often and want you to know everyone is welcome at IRC Board of Director meetings.

As chairman of the nominating committee, I want to thank four people who put in hard work with this year's nominating process. All of them put in many hours on the phone or meeting in person. The time they took in both explaining the role of the board of directors and encouraging potential candidates is much appreciated. Thanks go to Bertina Rudman (representing Not-For-Profit/Citizens Groups), Bob Gedert (representing Government), and Jeff Raffenburg (representing Business). Janet Fox Neltner, IRC's Executive Director, also assisted the committee a great deal. My thanks go to each of you!
