REVENT, the IRC’s annual fundraising gala, was held on Saturday, November 12th. Thank you so much to Goodwill Industries of Central Indiana for once again hosting us in the Indianapolis Metropolitan High School. We’re proud to announce that 2016 REVENT was a zero waste event thanks to glass recycling provided by Strategic Materials and food waste composting provided by Duos and the Kheprw Institute.
WFYI reporter Jill Ditmire again served as our beautiful emcee for the evening and, as always, flawlessly entertained everyone. Also, a big shout out to
Kate Shepherd for her emcee’ing assistance throughout the evening. IRC Board President Cassie Stockamp and IRC VP Greg Spratt facilitated the raffle game of Heads or Tails for a chance to win a $500 cash prize, generously sponsored by the
500 Festival. The raffle earned the IRC over $1,500.
The silent auction was more successful than ever, raising over $8,000 for IRC; we continue to be astonished at the generosity of all those who donated. Scanning through the 100 plus items and themed packages in our silent auction served as a fun backdrop for the bustling cocktail hour, courtesy of the munificent Monarch Beverage Company who donated the best local beer and wine and Hoosier Beverage Association who provided soft drinks.
Following the cocktail hour, guests were served a meal to write home about from our friends at
Duos. Dessert was delectable-sweet salutations to
Best Chocolate in Town for once again supplying the most sumptuous of truffles and to
Trader Joes for donating too many cookies to choose from! A+ to all those attendees who participated in the Upcycled Fashion Contest and to our ever-classy and trendy judges
Sierra Holmes of
Eclectic Kurves and
Madison Hromadka of Preppy Guide to Life. A gracious thanksgiving to phenomenal artists
Stephanie Cochran,
Emily Bennett,
Kristy Hughes, and 1st place winner,
Julie Satch Kern, who all participated in our first ever Art of Recycling Competition and to Julie Muney Moore of the
Indy Arts Council for her artful advice.
Thank you to our photographer Craig Moore of Pinhole Image Works for snapping shots and special thanks to Nathan Rues of Kaps for Kids for supplying the stunning sellable rose centerpieces and for donating half the proceeds to the IRC. Lastly, the IRC would like recognize pivotal members on our board Morgan Bennett, Stacey Boggs, Bob Bryant, Nick Brothers, Cassie Stockamp and volunteer Anne Laker for serving on the REVENT committee. Finally, we are ever so thankful to the slew of dedicated volunteers Justin Hofmann, Justin Morris, Matt Miller, Victoria Goodwin, Orange Gui, Liz Gimenez, Morgan Safford, Ashley Hoffman, Lydia Boyer, Alex Alvarez, Sharon Newarth, Kelsey Smith, Hana Cleveland, Lashata Grayson, Aaron Stroude, Will Schaust, Ellie McGrary, Cami Marstellar, Jess Stevents, Jenn Roelker, Cole Seager, Corey Weinberg, Izzy Pollack, Precious Bell, Raquel Knight, Infinity Knight, Fatima Khan, and Usama Hanif, who made REVENT 2016 run as smoothly as it ever has, and to Papa Johns and Jimmy John’s for feeding them!
THANK YOU to all those not mentioned! We hope you will consider attending next year! Until then, enjoy some photos from REVENT 2016 on our Facebook page!
WE’RE EXCITED FOR THIS YEAR’S COMMUNITY PARTNER VENUE FOR REVENT!
