State Fair Recycling Coordinator (Temporary)
The Indiana Recycling Coalition is hiring a temporary staff person to assist in the implementation of a comprehensive recycling program at the Indiana State Fair. The State Fair Recycling Coordinator is expected to attend at least 12 of the 17 days of the Fair and perform the tasks below. Some evening work required.
- Trains new volunteers each shift
- Manages volunteers
- Completes volunteer tasks if volunteer doesn’t show up
- Keeps track of “Bin Check List” sheets
- Manages the recycling headquarters educational booth, talking to fairgoers about the benefits of recycling in Indiana (Can only talk to fair goers at recycling bins or at Educational Booth due to Indiana State Fair Solicitation Guidelines)
Qualifications:
- Must complete on–line “Super Service, Super Safety” training prior to receiving Staff Badge
- Volunteer coordination preferred
- Familiarity with environmental initiatives strongly preferred
- Experience staffing an educational booth preferred
- College education preferred (or current college -Jr or higher- student)
Hours and pay rate:
- 8 hour days (times flexible depending on day and volunteer shift changes) $10/hour
