The Indiana Recycling Coalition (IRC) applauds the Indiana Court of Appeals’ decision in favor of the plaintiffs in a lawsuit protesting the recycling contract between Covanta and the City of Indianapolis. The suit charged, among other things, that the city didn’t follow proper public bidding requirements before awarding the contract.
“We’re delighted with the court’s decision,” said IRC Executive Director Carey Hamilton. “We supported the plaintiffs in filing this suit because we believe a competitive and transparent process will provide the best recycling program while also best serving taxpayers.”
