Load your copier or fax with paper already printed on one side.

Remove your name from unsolicited mailing lists.

Use refillable ink pens rather than disposable.

Use e-mail and other electronic files whenever possible.

Buy loose postage stamps rather than books.

Create a reusable office supply room.

  • Review electronic mail, and print out only what you really need for future reference.
  • Avoid using fax cover pages. Double side all photocopies.
  • Reuse manila folders, binders, envelopes and boxes by relabeling them.
  • Buy refurbished toner cartridges or refill them yourself if possible.
  • Think "litter-less lunches" for work or any meals away from home. Avoid store-bought single servings and instead place sandwiches, snacks and drinks in reusable containers rather than plastic bags.
  • Drink your coffee or other beverage in a reusable mug and use plates and cloth napkins rather than disposable items for meals.
