Learn about Waste Reduction & Recycling!
Education is a pivotal part of the IRC’s mission. Hoosiers can engage the IRC to receive waste reduction & recycling education in the following ways:
- Private businesses & organizations: The IRC is happy to present at conferences, classrooms, annual meetings, lunch & learns, and more. However we do give preference to organizational members of the IRC. Become a member here and request a speaker here.
- Industry professionals: attend the IRC’s Annual Waste Reduction Conference held in mid-June in Indianapolis.
- K-12 teachers & students: Review the resources provided on this page and reach out to your solid waste management district for class visits or tabling at your local environmental or Earth Day fairs. Due to staffing constraints and because we are a statewide organization, the IRC usually cannot make in-person appearances to elementary and high schools. However, we compiled the following educational resources for teachers, parents, and anyone else who wants to learn or teach students about recycling.
The Indiana Recycling Coalition thanks you for teaching your students about waste reduction, reuse, recycling, and composting in Indiana!
